Buying guide

When you need to serve more than a few coffees, it helps to separate two jobs: brewing the coffee and holding it ready to serve. A percolator, filter machine and thermal urn are not interchangeable purchases.
A percolator for a larger batch
A coffee percolator is a brewing appliance. Consider the minimum batch as carefully as its headline capacity, especially if demand is spread across the day.
The 10L coffee percolator lists a 5-litre minimum fill and an approximate brewing time of 38 minutes at maximum capacity. That is worth planning around for a scheduled group service. Its “approximately 100 cups” description is not a promise of 100 full-sized mugs: the volume poured matters.
Before choosing it, consider how much coffee you expect to serve together and whether that minimum batch fits your needs.
An auto-fill filter machine for a plumbed-in setup
Check how water reaches the machine before choosing a position on the counter. An auto-fill specification does not mean a machine can also be filled by hand.
Our auto-fill filter coffee machine with 2.5L airpot requires a mains water connection and has no manual-fill option. One 2.5-litre vacuum airpot is included. Its listed brewing time is 6–7 minutes per batch; that figure and the percolator’s maximum-capacity time refer to different batch sizes and should not be treated as a like-for-like speed test.
A thermal urn for serving brewed coffee
The 2.5L thermal coffee urn is a serving container, not a substitute for a coffee brewer. It has a stainless steel reservoir, level gauge and detachable base, and is listed as compatible with the RP286BV coffee machine.
Check what is already supplied before adding another container. The RP286BV includes one airpot, so a separate purchase should meet an actual service need. Do not assume the stated gross capacity is a guaranteed usable serving volume, or infer an unverified heat-retention time.
Choose the workflow first
Write down your typical batch size, water-connection options and where coffee will be served. Then compare the exact model’s installation, cleaning and operating instructions. None of these products is an espresso machine.
